Cyberpunk 2077 was notoriously rushed to meet its release, so a lot of ideas that were planned had to be scrapped to improve the game. Now that a proper sequel is being worked on, there are plans to bring multiplayer to this new game, assuming everything goes well.

Michal Nowakowski, the co-CEO of CD Projekt Red, told Reuters that they are considering some multiplayer elements for the Cyberpunk sequel. Details on the potential multiplayer were not shared, but it is interesting seeing them reconsider an idea that had to be scrapped from the original game. There’s hope from fans that co-op is part of those ideas, as a co-op Cyberpunk campaign would excite many.

It seems that the company has learned from the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077, so the plan seems to be taking some time before release. Until we see any actual details on the sequel, all we can do is hope for the best, especially the developers who are making this game.

The report also claims that CD Projekt Red is going all in on The Witcher 4, or whatever it ends up being called. Details on this sequel are also pretty slim, though there are plans to give the game another simultaneous release to please console players. Considering how that led to a ton of success for The Witcher 3, we can’t blame them for going with that method.

While it took a few years, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally an enjoyable game, with recent updates improving the gameplay by a ton. Crunching the game’s devs to rush its release was still a dumb move, but these updates prove that titles with a ton of passion behind them can be fixed. As long as the next game doesn’t crunch its developers and rush its release, we can get behind a sequel to Cyberpunk coming in a few years.
