Crysis: Official Twitter Account Comes To Life And Hints At A Possible Return To The Series

UPDATE:

According to Crytek's job listings, the developer is hiring a Technical Director for an "unannounced AAA title".

As pointed out by @Okami13_ on Twitter, this likely means whatever is being teased is in prototype – so won't be seeing the light of day anytime soon.

The appearance of a new website for Crysis sparked hope for a new game in the series, and although it was around April Fools Day, we're now into the middle of April with even more reason to believe a Crysis return is on the cards.

The popular 2007 first-person shooter received rave reviews for its incredible visuals, interactive and expansive worlds, and, again, THE VISUALS.

2013's Crysis 3 was the last of the series. With April Fool's Day already cluttered with companies ironically promising fake products and remasters of games that have no business being remastered, just for the 'lols', it seemed Crytek was following suit, after updating the official Crysis website with a look at the original game's protagonist, Jake "Nomad" Dunn, giving fans hope for a new game or potentially a remaster of the first Crysis.

Being April Fools Day, most fans were skeptical, as well as some even pointing out that the words 'April Fools' appeared in the source code.

Although the sensible thing to do, would be to assume it was another 'hilarious' April Fools joke.

Crytek is still yet to take their 'joke' down from the website, and to make matters even more confusing, the official Crysis Twitter page just tweeted for the first time in 3 years... Talk about mixed signals.
