The idea of Activision commissioning a Call of Duty movie isn’t a new topic of conversation. Seeing the shooter franchise making its way to the silver screen has every chance to prove a hit and while Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 fans keep dropping into the action, the rumour mill is starting to churn once again.
With a few weeks until the arrival of Season Two Reloaded, information on a potential cast is starting to appear, much to the excitement of fans. Previous reports claim Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will star in the movie but it appears plans have changed.
Instead of a Call of Duty movie featuring the former WWE champion, a star from The Witcher is now the latest frontrunner for a leading role.

A GiantFreakinRobot report claims Henry Cavill is in talks to play the legendary Captain Price in a Call of Duty film. Additionally, the report says Amazon Studios is in the process of securing the rights to create a blockbuster surrounding the Modern Warfare series.
Although Captain Price is a staple of Modern Warfare, the character first made his debut in the very first Call of Duty title that launched in 2003. This opens up the possibility of a World War II movie showcasing the origins of the character but the likelihood of a modern-day epic is much higher.
Henry Cavill is no stranger to action-packed war films. In 2017, he starred in Sand Castle alongside Nicholas Hoult and Tommy Flanagan. As with all reports, it’s important to take them with a pinch of salt until more concrete information appears.

However, the prospect of Henry Cavill playing a Call of Duty icon is hugely exciting. Who else could join him as the other members of Task Force 141?
