BlizzCon 2022 Has Been Canceled With No Timeframe Given For It's Return

Despite canceling Blizzcon already this year in favor of a consecutive digital event early in 2022, Blizzard has confirmed that BlizzConline will not go ahead in February next year.

This comes amid the ongoing State of California lawsuit, in which the company has seen many workplace allegations of harassment come forward with a "frat boy" work culture.

While the lawsuit was not directly named, Blizzard talked about reimagining BlizzCon to create a safer and more inclusive event for all those in attendance from their own employees to the fans.

This does not mean there will be no new announcements, however, as Blizzard makes it clear that there will be game announcements and updates for games, but there is no timeline given.

BlizzCon 2022 Has Been Cancelled

"One more thing we wanted to make clear: even though we aren’t holding BlizzConline in February, we’ll still be making announcements and updates for our games. We’re proud of our teams and the progress they’ve made across our games. We have a lot of exciting upcoming news and releases to share with you. You’ll continue hearing about those through our franchise channels, with the talented people on the BlizzCon team playing a part in supporting these efforts". The Blizzard team says.

While it may be sad to hear for many fans of the franchise, it is for the best, considering everything that has gone on this year, but don't worry, BlizzCon will be back in a new format that will be better than ever.
