Longest Running Fortnite Scams And How To Avoid Them

Fortnite is probably one of the most popular battle royales out there in the market today. It's got a huge fan base as well.

Thanks to the popularity of the game, there are a lot of scams that can be seen quite frequently on the internet.

But how do you recognize these scams and how do you protect your account from them?

Everything we know about the scams in Fortnite

There are two basic areas in which you can get scammed, especially when it comes to Fortnite. The first being the skins, and the second being V-Bucks.

#1 Fortnite skins

There are no Fortnite skins out there which you can get for free. No matter what people tell you, or what you see on the internet, you cannot get Fortnite skins for free.

You either have to purchase the battle pass to get your hands on the skins within the pass. Or you'll have to wait till Epic Games decides to hand out skins for free.

The only time they've handed out free skins for PC players to date is the Ruby Shadows skin pack. That was done a few months ago. Other than that, there aren't any skin generators for Fortnite, or ways to get free skins.

#2 V-Bucks

Secondly, Fortnite has no V-Bucks generators either. You will have to purchase these with real money from the Epic Games Store.

You could also get yourself a V-Bucks card from a local store but then again, you need to purchase that as well. Any V-Bucks generator that you see online is fake as well.

These are the two major areas in which you can get scammed in Fortnite. Remember, do not believe in any advertisements or websites that give away free V-Bucks, unless Epic Games has mentioned it on the Fortnite official Twitter page or their blog.

Never give your credentials to anyone. And if you've accidentally given it away, make sure to have Two Factor Authentication enabled for additional security.
