Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2: v12.61 Update, Downtime, Changes Explained

Fortnite v12.61 is live on all consoles and PC. Make sure you're game is up-to-date, and log back in for the latest version of the genre-defining Battle Royale game.

While the update seems small, dataminers have found a few additions that could tease something big as we head into Season 3.

Here's what we've got in store (potential spoiler inbound):

Dataminers @VastBlastt and @FNBRHQ have found a bunch of new skins and load screens which lend credibility to the theory that Midas' Doomsday Device is going flood the map at the end of Season 2.

As you can see in the new loading screen above, Midas is looking at scuba diving equipment.

However, there is a second face reflected in the glass, suggesting another character is in on the plan as well. We can't quite make out who that is yet, but we should find out as the event kicks off this weekend.

As you can see, the latest skin is Midas' scuba-suit, and the dataminers also found a tattered cloak Back Bling which completes the set.

There's not a lot else we know ahead of the big event this weekend, but we've collated the patch notes below so you can check out any bug fixes.
