The story is Fortnite canon and will explain many of the island's mysteries, including the Zero Point.

COMIC: Issue #2 hit shelves May 18, 2021

The following contains spoilers for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3. Stop reading now if you do not wish to know details of the story contained within the issue.

Issue #3 of DC Comic's Batman and Fortnite crossover is the same length as the first two issues, though this issue finally delves a bit further into the mysteries of Apollo Island and the world of Fortnite.

The issue opens with a series of interoffice communications between Loop Operations and PsyOps explaining how Batman is figuring out way too much about how the Loop works and is rapidly making his way towards escape.

Though his efforts are slowed after getting Catwoman out of the loop, his skill is proving too great, throwing whatever timeline IO has for him.

In order to slow him down, they toss Snake Eyes at him.

Most of the issue is a series of action sequences between Batman and Snake Eyes, with interoffice memos narrating how perfectly matched the two are, and how watching them is like viewing a beautiful piece of art.

Even the other combatants on Apollo Island stop to watch the two in awe.

While their memories are erased after each loop reset, the two grow to have mutual respect for each other, leading IO to believe more than just emotional memory is carried over through each reset.

Eventually, Batman and Snake Eyes work out a series of hand signals to communicate, and to the surprise of IO, Snake Eyes stands down in order to let Batman gain a Victory Royale and escape the loop.

Once out, Batman is greeted by Deathstroke holding a gun to Catwoman's head, and the issue ends.

Fortnite Favorites

As is the norm now, Fortnite fan-favorite characters are nothing more than mere background characters, adding a bit of color and familiarity to each issue.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3 features Mothmando, a Borderlands Psycho, Penny, Guff, Ragnarok, Rex, SLUDGE, Meowcles, Peely, Cuddle Team Leader, and more.

There is even an easter egg featuring a popular Nintendo character.

EPIC: More than just a company

Each issue of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point has been better than the last up to this point, with issue #3 finally delving into more of the inner workings of IO and what is happening on Apollo Island.

The only text we see through the entire issue, minus Deathstroke's one sentence at the end, is the interoffice communications going back and forth in IO.

It also seems there is some kind of interference with the transmissions, hinting that Jones may be at work behind the scenes.

The scenes of Batman and Snake Eyes are epic, showing their escalating battle over the course of each loop.

Their growing mutual respect for each other can also be seen, leading to Snake Eyes' eventual sacrifice so Batman can escape.

Now that Batman is out of the loop, what is next?

We know he is going to face off against Deathstroke, but how does Fortnite fit into the rest of the series now that Batman and Catwoman have escaped?

Will they feel the need to rescue Harley, or is Batman's natural tendency to follow through going to cause him to go after IO?

Only a few weeks are left until readers find out.
