Final Fantasy Director Reassures Development For Both Final Fantasy 14 And Final Fantasy 16 Is Progressing Well

Naoki Yoshida confirmed that he is currently working for both Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 16 during an interview with Famitsu.

The director and producer of the two games reassured fans that he is ‘hands-on’ with both titles, even with Final Fantasy 16 being the more anticipated game right now. He mentioned:

“This is not the end of Final Fantasy XIV, and I hope players will look forward to future development… Recently, I have seen some comments on social media saying “Yoshi-P is too busy working on Final Fantasy XVI, and is hands-off with Final Fantasy XIV.” This is absolutely not the case. I still working very hard on it, so I hope you’ll stick with me.”

Though Yoshida admitted that there's been mistakes every now and then whilst developing both games, he said:

“Mistakes can, and will, happen during development. Sometimes I see posts saying “This [bug] has happened because Yoshi-P hasn’t seen it!” Even I make mistakes, I’m sorry! But we’ll continue to do our best.”

Final Fantasy 14 is available for PS4, PS5, and PC platforms, while Final Fantasy 16 still doesn’t have a release date. An expansion for the former, named Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker, will be available beginning November 23, 2021.
