Final Fantasy 16 Features An 'Expansive' Skill Tree, Confirms Game Producer


While it didn't directly appear at Tokyo Game Show 2021, producer Naoki Yoshida has confirmed more Final Fantasy 16 news.

Revealing the game uses an 'expansive' skill tree, we can expect something similar to iOS-exclusive RPG Fantasian. Yoshida mentioned this during an interview with Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy.

Advising it's their way of letting the players "grow" characters in a personal way, Yoshida stated:

"There's usually two ways to play a character. You can either put yourself into the shoes of a pre-defined protagonist or like in (Final Fantasy)14, you can become your own protagonist. But even in the case where you ‘play’ a pre-defined hero, it's better to have some sense of customization in the character’s progression as it gives wider options of play."
