There has been some serious talent on the cover of FIFA since the release of FIFA International Soccer in 1993.
David Platt and Piotr Świerczewski were the stars of the debut release from EA Sports, with the likes of Ronaldinho, Edgar Davids, Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi taking centre stage since then.
Kylian Mbappe fronted the most recent release of the EA Sports title, but has he retained his starring role? Or is it time for yet another changing of the guard?
Cover Star Revealed
The time for guessing is over, as EA Sports have officially revealed that Kylian Mbappe will be the cover star for FIFA 22.
The France and PSG star endured a disappointing summer - missing the cruical penalty as France suffered a shock last 16 exit in the European Championships - but there's no doubting that he'll be back at the top of his game next season.
He'll be one of the most sought after cards in next year's Ultimate Team offering, and he'll be the man who you'll see on the box when it hits the shelves in the autumn.
Not only do we know who will feature on the cover of FIFA 22, but it looks as though we know what the cover may look like too.
EA's announcement tweet featured a picture of Mbappe on a two tone, simplistic background with the words "Ultimate Edition Kylian Mbappe" added below the French star.
There is no official confirmation that this will be the cover of the Ultimate Edition, but we'd say it's a pretty safe bet to assume it will be.
EA have also announced the release date for their traditional reveal trailer, and it's sooner than you might have expected!
The FIFA 22 Official Reveal Trailer will go live on YouTube at 4:30pm BST on Sunday, June 11th.
The trailer will give gamers their first sneak peak at what to expect from the upcoming release, though it's unlikely we'll see any groundbreaking announcements until EA Play Live later this month.
