FIFA 20 Shapeshifters Team 2: New Squad Building Possibilities Available with New Shapeshifters Cards

The 2nd half of the Shapeshifters Promotion has arrived in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, bringing a host of new squad building opportunities with the new position changed items.

In this article, we go through a number of tasty new squads you can build in FUT with the new part 2 Shapeshifters cards, featuring links to new, and pre-existing special items to make new, original squads in FUT.

Alaba & Zakaria - Meta Bundesliga Defenders

During the Shapeshifters promo, the Bundesliga has received a tonne of top new cards, with recent additions being 88 Alaba and 87 Zakaria (available via SBCs). 

With these top new defensive options, there is a tonne of top tier links you can utilise for squad building in FUT.

Defensively, Storyline 88 Akanji looks to be a top link, with a strong link to Zakaria. 88 Lainer, available via the Bundesliga League SBC is a great strong link to both Alaba and Zakaria, being Austrian playing for M’Gladbach.

Moving into the midfield, fellow Shapeshifter 86 Mbabu provides a great link to Zakaria, with the newly upgraded Road to the Final 88 Goretzka and current SBC Player Moments 90 Kimmich being top strong links to Alaba.

CB Kante - The Chelsea Trio

While Kante may be better served in the midfield, there are certainly a number of solid links you can utilise with Chelsea’s defence.

The new Flashback 88 Azpilicueta (currently available in SBCs until March 4th) as well as the Future Stars 87 Tomori provide solid CB options to link to Kante, meaning if you wanted to switch in-game to a 4 at the back formation, these two can easily play together.

In the midfield, Storyline 88 Kovacic could be a great choice for reaching the final level of this season.

Mendy & Vinicius - More Real Madrid Special Cards

The Real Madrid team you can make this year is something special, quite literally, with a full Madrid special card team possible at this stage of the game.

With new Shapeshifters Ferland Mendy and Vinicius Junior, you can utilise a tonne of top tier Madrid strong links, and potentially make a full team if you wish.

Defensively, Headliners 89 Varane and the new Player Moments 93 Sergio Ramos are by far the best options to link Ferland Mendy into sides, with Road to the Final 86 Eder Militao also being a solid option.

Moving forward, to link Vinicius, you have 2 Brazilian perfect links in fellow Shapeshifter 91 Marcelo, as well as Future Stars 91 Rodrygo. 

Richarlison - Premier League Brazilians

Brazilian players in FUT have always been popular since the good old days of Brazilian silvers in FIFA 11 Ultimate Team.

With Richarlison’s new Shapeshifter card, there are plenty of Brazilian strong links you can utilise in the Premier League.

Shapeshifter 91 David Luiz and 86 Fabinho are both strong options to link Richarlison in the defensive midfield positions, with pacey wingers Future Stars 90 Martinelli and Shapeshifter 87 Lucas providing brilliant options out wide.

Going forward, you have a top forward in 88 Firmino you can use, as well as any Premier League attacker that takes your fancy.

Ribery - The French Connection

While only being a very simple link between two French beasts in the Serie A, Theo Hernandez has been hotly tipped to receive a number of cards this year, from a Headliner, to a Future Star, so may be in the running to receive a big boost soon via one of the upcoming promotions.

Definitely keep an eye on him, as if he gets a big boost, will be a top link to Frank Ribery’s Shapeshifter item.
