Far Cry 6 Preload Start Time Countdown


Far Cry 6 preload is available now, though not for everyone. The latest Far Cry game releases October 7, but you can get ahead of long download times by pre-installing it. The Far Cry 6 file size isn't massive, and you might still need a day one patch before you can actually start playing. However, preloading is a good way to save a couple of hours if you don't feel like waiting.

Far Cry 6 Preload Start Time Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

Far Cry 6 is available for preloading on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S now, and if you already have automatic downloads activated, it should have started downloading already.

If not, head to your game library under the "Games and Apps" section, then choose to view all owned games. Far Cry 6 should be listed on there, and you can choose to download it. It's roughly 40 GB minus the day one patch.

Far Cry 6 Preload Start Time PS5 and PS5

Far Cry 6 preload on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 begins October 5. That's 48 hours before release, the same as PlayStation preloads work for essentially any other game. You'll need roughly 40 GB of free space on PlayStation as well.

There's no set preload time for PC, though we assume it will likely coincide with the PS5 and PS4 preload times on October 5. The Far Cry 6 PC file size is a bit bigger - 60GB, if you want the HD texture packs as well.

If you're playing on last-gen and Stadia, you'll find Far Cry 6's frame rate is capped at 30 fps, though it does have third-person cutscenes - a first for the series.
