'The Hero' Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Character Details And Release Date

A new DLC character has been announced for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, 'The Hero' from Dragon Quest XI, will arrive on the fighting game for Nintendo Switch.

This comes off the back of Nintendo's E3 2019 conference, where they opened the Nintendo Direct with this announcement. They also recently announced Banjo-Kazooie would join the cast.

What is Dragon Quest XI?

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix. Players explore worlds and fight against various monsters, including the ability to explore high areas. Originally released on the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation 4 in Japan on July 2017 and worldwide in September 2018, it will get an enhanced port for the Nintendo Switch in 2019.

Release Date

Details on an exact date are yet to be confirmed, however we have confirmation it will be coming in the summer of 2019. To gain access to this character you will need to purchase the Fighters Pass or the individual 'challenger pack' which will include a character, level and music tracks.

Gameplay Style & First Impressions

'The Hero' joins as a sword based character in a roster that already boasts a healthy number of them.

We also caught a glimpse of the many echo fighter variants available for this character.
