Banjo-Kazooie Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Character Details And Release Date

Another DLC character has been announced for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, the bear and bird combo 'Banjo-Kazooie', will arrive on the fighting game for Nintendo Switch.

This comes off the back of Nintendo's E3 2019 conference, where they finished the Nintendo Direct with this announcement. They also recently announced that 'The Hero' would join the cast.

Who are Banjo-Kazooie?

Banjo-Kazooie, the legendary duo, are famous for their appearance in their own franchise title that was released in 1998 on the Nintendo 64. The game 'Banjo-Kazooie was a platform video game developed by Rare, in which they must rescue Banjo's sister Tooty from the witch Gruntilda, and featured nine nonlinear levels. The unique part of this game came in the form of abilities that the pair could use through the game as well as the colourful puzzles, obstacles, items and enemies they encountered.

Release Date

Details on an exact date are yet to be confirmed, however we have confirmation it will be coming in the fall of 2019. To gain access to this character you will need to purchase the Fighters Pass or the individual 'challenger pack' which will include a character, level and music tracks.

Gameplay Style & First Impressions

It's been along time coming for this inclusion to the Smash Bros roster; one that has been requested by fans for many years.

Based off of the video footage, we can see Banjo will be providing close combat power mixed with Kazooie's ranged abilities. Some iconic moves from their original platformer have been implemented into their moveset including Kazooie's ability to fly and shoot eggs.

We will also see some unique maps including Spiral Mountain!
