Rocket League's Radical Summer Event: Launch Date, Skins, Modes And More!


Psyonix have announced their most recent in-game event for Rocket League 'Radical Summer'. This event will kick off on the 10th June and will last 9 weeks featuring free items, new premium licensed DLCs, limited-time game modes and more!

 

Themed around the 1980s, this event celebrates three areas: Blockbusters, Culture and Television. Players need to play online to earn ‘cassettes’ and redeem them for in-game items. The store will also change for each phase, bringing new items for your Battle-Car.

Dates

The dates for these phases are:

Blockbusters: June 10 - July 1Culture: July 1 - July 22Television July 22 - August 12

Here’s every franchise you can expect to see:

  • Ghostbusters
  • Knight Rider
  • Back to the Future
  • E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
  • The Goonies
  • Karate Kid
  • DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender
  • WWE

Golden Eggs

Golden eggs will return, and this will contain items from Elevation, Victory, Turbo and Nitro Crates. A total of five can be earned for each phase of the event.

Ecto-1 and K.I.T.T.

The event will start and end with two new Premium Licensed DLC with the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and Knight Ride Car Packs.

The Ghostbusters Ecto-1 car pack will be available for $1.99 on June 10th with the Knight Rider Car Park coming later.

New Limited Modes

Three new limited modes will become available through the duration of the event. To welcome the arrival of the Ecto-1, you can play the new Ghost Hunt mode.

Ghost Hunt, which features in the Blockbusters phase of Radical Summer, is a 3v3 mode where each team uses their proton stream power-ups to try to trap the ghostly ball in your opponents’ containment zone on Urban Central Arena. This is playable until July 1st.

Spike Rush kicks off the Culture phase of Radical Summer. In this 3v3 mode, each player has the Spike power-up from Rumble Mode that can be activated to carry the ball. It all goes down on our Throwback Stadium Arena to commemorate Rocket League's fourth anniversary.

Salty Shores closes out the Summer with Beach Ball mode. This 2v2 mode features a larger ball, lower ball gravity and the curveball mutator.
