Gears of War Mexico City – Group B Preview

Gears Pro Circuit Mexico City Open – Group B Preview

The Gears Pro Circuit Mexico City Open is fast approaching, as the world’s most talented Gears of War teams prepare for battle at the Auditorio BlackBerry, Mexico City, from January 20th – 22nd. Tickets are now available for purchase!

As the Auditorio BlackBerry undergoes its final preparations ahead of the next stop in the $1million Gears of War Pro Circuit, I’m excited to share my preview of Group B, in what is shaping up to be an amazing event.

Splyce

Choche | Identivez | Dezonide | Rocher | Advers Uleet

Widely considered as the best Gears of War team in the Latin American region, Splyce will be looking to redeem themselves on the international stage, following a disappointing performance at Gfinity London.

Coming into the event, the Mexicans have dominated their regional online MLG 2K tournaments, winning every single one which has taken place on Gears of War 4. In front of a home crowd, they'll be looking to make an impact against some of the world’s best opposition.

Player to Watch: Identivez

Echo Fox

Kyle | Clouts | KO | Krash | Speedy Prison

Since the Gfinity London Open, in which they placed within the top six teams, Echo Fox have made a signifcant roster change ahead of the Mexico City Open. Former eUnited players, Kyle and Clouts have joined the foxes, as they look to improve on what has been a solid season so far. Heading into the event, the new lineup will be focused on defeating Splyce, which should be an incredibly exciting series.

Player to Watch: Kyle

Panda Global

Strangulate | Drix | Shock | Noxious Hero | Nastty

Panda Global secured a respectable top eight finish at the Gfinity London Open, however, there is no doubt in my mind that Strangulate and co will be heading into the Mexico City Open with the intention of improving upon their recent results.

The team has been grinding online against some of their regions top opposition and this should only aid them when they face off against the likes of Splyce and Echo Fox. In what is set to be a highly contested group, Panda definitely have the ability to qualify for the next round and cause some major upsets.

Player to Watch: Strangulate

Predictions

1st - Echo Fox 3-0

2nd - Panda Global 2-1

3rd - Splyce 1-2

4th - Open Bracket Team 0-3

Group B is looking to be a highly contested affair, but I believe that Echo Fox will comfortably make it out of the group, with the number one seed.

As for the second seed, it will be a much closer battle. In my opinion, all of these squads are evenly matched but I think the experience of the Panda Global players will shine through and they will grab the second spot.

Which teams do you think will make it out of Group B? Let us know in the comments below!
