Gears 5’s first Campaign DLC is on its way, in the form of Hivebusters.
The new missions and story is sure to excite many fans hungry for more Gears 5 content.
Here’s every we know about the DLC so far!
Release Date
Hivebusters will be releasing December 15 at 6AM PT or 2PM UTC, and will be playable on console, PC and Android versions of Gears 5 at launch.
This means wherever you play your Xbox games, you’ll be able to enjoy this expansion.
Price
The Hivebusters expansion will be free to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers, but can also be purchased separately for £14.99/$19.99.
If you don’t yet own Gears 5, you can pickup the game and its DLC in a special Gears 5: Game of the Year Edition instead! This will also come with the Halo: Reach Character Pack and 30 days of boost as well.
Though, we’d strongly recommend you just go for Game Pass, it’s too good a deal not to at this point.
Story Details and Length

Hivebusters is a three-hour long additional story set on the Galangi Islands, full of volcanic lava flows and Swarm, as well as some new deadly predator on the hunt too.
Microsft explains you’ll be able to “play as Lahni, Keegan and Mac – the heroes introduced in Gears 5’s Escape mode – in their first mission as part of the secretive Hivebuster program.”
“Thrown together and dubbed “Scorpio Squad,” their suicide mission to destroy a Swarm hive may hold the key to saving Sera and their own redemption.”
