NPCs have been a fun addition to Chapter 2 Season 5!
They allow Fortnite players to unlock bonus quests, buy unique weapons, and upgrade the guns they have.
Though it looks like NPCs might be getting new functions in the near future.
Specifically, NPCs may buy loot and spawn supply drops!
Here’s what we know about these potential updates.

These leaks come via @Hypex on Twitter.
We might get more NPC services where they buy loot from you or spawn 1 supply drop for 600 gold!

The leaker is known for being legit, so it’s likely that we’ll be getting these additions at some point in the future!
We can’t wait.

How Will This Improve NPCs?
Selling loot is by far and away from the best news in this update.
Gold can be hard to come by, but even just being able to grab just a few bars from a vendor could be vital in helping players secure the item they need in the moment.
The addition of buying Supply Drops will also be good, helping players secure a pool of loot for themselves in Solos or their team in Duos or Squads.
It will also hopefully balance the NPCs, making them each more uniformly useful as right now, some very much aren’t!
