Call of Duty League LAN Matches Return Later in 2021

Call of Duty League LAN tournaments are returning after two seasons of online-only Call of Duty League tournaments.

Several teams teased the return of CoD LAN in the past few days, but the Call of Duty League Twitter account made it official.

However, it’s not certain if this is a full return to CoD League LAN tournaments or when in the League’s 2021 schedule LAN will make its comeback.

“In coordination with our teams, we’re happy to announce Call of Duty League plans for teams to return LAN play at select events later this season,” the tweet said.

The decision is also in keeping with recent announcements from Blizzard, Activision's other half.

It’s a move Activision has been wanting to make for a long time.

Their upcoming events page reads “Call of Duty League has seen firsthand the power of our live events in our inaugural season, and will return to city-based competition in front of live audiences as soon as it is safe and logistically possible.”

Atlanta FaZe teased the possibility of CoD League LAN tournaments on April 13 with a tweet showing a League tag bearing the name “BACK2LAN.”

OpTic Chicago leaked it by outright saying “We’ll see you soon… on LAN.”

Activision promised more details on the return of CoD League LAN matches in the coming weeks.
