Things are starting to heat up in the DOTA 2 AniMajor 2021 as four teams find themselves eliminated after the end of the Wildcard stage.
The last DOTA 2 Major before The International 10 is the last opportunity for multiple teams to earn enough DPC points that will guarantee them a direct invite to the biggest DOTA 2 event of the year. The DOTA 2 AniMajor 2021 features a total of 2,700 DPC points for teams to claim by earning a notable placement in the tournament.
With that in mind, the six teams in the Wildcard Stage started off the second day in a final attempt to qualify for the Group Stage.
Here's everything that players need to know about the action from the second day of AniMajor 2021.
DOTA 2 AniMajor Wildcard Stage Day 2 Results
The second day of action ensued as a total of seven BO2 series were played. The results from these series are,
- Vici Gaming defeated AS Monaco Gambit, 2-0.
- Team Secret vs Execration ended in a draw, 1-1.
- Team Nigma defeated Execration, 2-0.
- Vici Gaming defeated Invictus Gaming, 2-0.
- Invictus Gaming vs AS Monaco Gambit ended in a draw, 1-1.
- Team Nigma vs Team Secret ended in a draw, 1-1.
- Invictus Gaming defeated Team Secret, 2-0.
After the end of these seven series, three teams found themselves eliminated from the tournament. These teams include,
- Team Secret
- Execration
- AS Monaco Gambit.
Vici Gaming was the only team to have secured a direct entry into the Group Stage. However, the final qualification spot was tied between Team Nigma and Invictus Gaming. These two teams engaged in a BO1 winner-takes-all tie-breaker match for the final spot.
In what turned out to be one of the most exciting matches from the tournament so far, Team Nigma emerged victorious riding on Igor "iLTW" Filatov's Luna and Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi's signature Invoker.
Despite being defending Major champions, Invictus Gaming found themselves eliminated even before the first game of the Group Stage has been played. This further goes to show how unpredictable and fiercely competitive the DOTA 2 esports scene is.
Henceforth, the final two teams to qualify for the Group Stage from the Wildcard are,
- Vici Gaming; and
- Team Nigma
DOTA 2 AniMajor Group Stage Day 1 Schedule
A total of eight series are scheduled to be played on the opening day of the DOTA 2 AniMajor's Group Stage. All of these BO2 series will be played out on June 4th. Here's a list of all the matches:

- Team Spirit vs Evil Geniuses;
- Vici Gaming vs Team Liquid;

The schedule for the second and following days has not yet been released by the organizers.
The Playoffs are scheduled to begin on June 9th. The six top-seed teams from each region are waiting in the Playoffs for the teams that qualify from the Group Stage.
