The upcoming Shiba Inu Game hopes to release in September, based on the latest information from SHIB project lead Shytoshi Kusama.

During a session in the Shiba Discord after announcing The Third Floor as a Shiba Inu Metaverse developer, Shytoshi answered questions about several projects on the Shiba Inu roadmap. He also spoke about his hopes for the Shiba Inu community to take the reigns.

Aside from the release timeline, Shytoshi has previously revealed several cards for the SHIB game in the past.

Shiba Inu Game Heading For September Release

When asked for information about the Shiba game, Shytoshi restated the September goal for its launch.

“September-ish is our goal unless something truly awesome slows us down,” he said.

Earlier in the chat on July 20, he also teased a September release once again. After referencing the preparations for the game’s launch, he commented on the emoji reactions to his message. “Why the eyes, you all know about the game,” he said. “And it’s almost September.”

He also added: “There will not be another late-April moment unless something really good slows us down.”

A September release has long been on the cards for the Shiba Inu Game, known also as SHIB CCG. When first announced in collaboration with developers PlaySide Studios back in November 2021, PlaySide said development would take approximately 8 months, with a launch date slated for Q1 FY 2023, setting up the launch for between July and September 2022.

Shytoshi further committed to this September date in April, when he posted about the game in the Turkish Shiba Inu Discord. “September I believe we will be done,” he said.

Of course, this is still not guaranteed. Past comments have also pointed towards a Q4 launch. We’ll need to wait for an official confirmation from either the Shiba team or PlaySide to know for sure.

Alongside this, Shytoshi made a cryptic comment about the Shiba Inu Game’s mobile version. When asked if the SHIB game is a mobile game, he said: “A week ago, my answer was yes. Now my answer is, we will see.”

The next few months are looking pretty busy for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. With the upcoming launch of the Shibarium public beta, and eventually the launch of the new Treat Token and the Shiba Inu metaverse, there’s plenty for holders to keep track of.
