The M4A1 has never strayed far away from the very top of the Warzone metagame. This assault rifle may not be the very best weapon to use, but it is an incredibly reliable and versatile weapon to fall back on if other weapons aren't cutting it on the streets of Verdansk. The fast rate of fire combined with low recoil levels makes it an incredibly popular choice when it comes to building the ultimate loadout. With the start of Season 4 Reloadedcurrently unfolding, let's take a look at the best way to set up the weapon.
Find the best loadout for this popular rifle along with the best attachments to equip in our guide!
M4A1 Warzone Best Attachments
- Barrel: Corvus Custom Marksman
- Optic: 4.0x Flip Hybrid
- Stock: Forge TAC CQS
- Rear Grip: Granulated Grip Tape
- Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
This attachment combination is the ideal balance for recoil control and high damage output. The party piece of this is the flip hybrid, allowing you to get a clear view of an enemy regardless of distance.
M4A1 Warzone Best Loadout
Even if you have the perfect set up for the M4A1 you will still need to consider the rest of your build. Here's our picks for secondary weapons, lethal and tactical gear, and Perks.
- Barrel: Forge TAC Gemini
- Laser: 5mW Laser
- Pump: FSS R9-0 Bulldog
- Rear Grip: Granulated Grip Tape
- Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
Having this lethal weapon in your back pocket is the perfect clutch when you are in a predicament and in a close-quarters scenario. Delivering a killer one-two punch makes this a very efficient weapon when finishing off a downed opponent or for clearing out any buildings.
- Lethal – Frag Grenade
- Tactical – Smoke Grenade
Grenade selection is always personal preference but we have gone for a Frag/Smoke combination. The frag grenade can be cooked and can be rebounded off a wall into a window or another room if you are looking for intel. The smoke grenade is the perfect tool for covering an open area of the map or it can be used to set up an ambush.
- EOD (Perk 1)
- Overkill (Perk 2)
- Amped (Perk 3)
EOD increases your resistance to explosives, perfect when under fire from a grenade and even an airstrike while tracker allows you to see enemy footsteps for a small period of time, giving you a rough idea of where they might be hiding.
Overkill enables you to equip two primary weapons in the same loadout, further improving versatility, while Amped increases weapon swap speed, giving you the ability to switch between the M4A1 and the R9-0 as fast as possible.
If you're looking for a great alternative to the M4A1 look no further than the Kilo. It's extremely reliable at long-range, and should feel similar to what you are used to.
Is the M4A1 Good in Warzone?
Having used the M4A1 in Warzone for several months, it's still one of my favourite weapons to use despite the regular changes to weapon performance. The fast rate of fire shreds through armour with ease while the low levels of recoil make it very easy to stay locked onto a target even from a long distance. If you want something a little different from the current meta, I would strongly recommend using the M4A1.
That's how you should set up your M4A1 for Call of Duty Warzone. For more on the game check out our weapons tier list. Elsewhere there's info on how to unlock the OTs 9 submachine gun to use on the streets of Verdansk and Rebirth Island.
