With numerous changes to weapon performance arriving in Season 2 Reloaded, we've managed to find a strong build for the Welgun to guarantee success in close-range engagements.

How to Unlock Welgun

The process of unlocking the Welgun is surprisingly straightforward, with players needing 10 kills using SMGs while aiming down sights in 15 different matches. Given the nature of the challenge, we recommend heading into a Plunder match where you can respawn and score the ten kills easily.

Best Welgun Warzone Attachments

After dropping into Caldera testing various combinations of attachments, we eventually settled on this particular build thanks to improvements in mobility without impacting on the Welgun's immense close-range power.

This set of attachments improves a variety of the Welgun's weaknesses while providing a slight increase in overall damage output, increasing the time-to-kill (TTK) enough for it th shred through armour and down an opponent in a matter of seconds. While the Shrouded barrel improves damage, the Recoil Booster increases the rate of fire to help in those hectic close-quarters duels.

The choice of Fabric Grip drastically improves sprint to fire time, enabling players to maintain focus on their intended target. This combined with the Removed Stock attachment allows you to duck and dive with ease.

Overall, this build capitalises on all of the Welgun's immensely powerful strengths while addressing some of the weaknesses to make it a viable option for close and mid-range gunfights on the streets of Caldera.

Best Welgun Warzone Perks and Equipment

Once the best Welgun attachments are ready to go, selecting the best Perks and Equipment is just as important, with both including a range of ways to deal more damage and to protect yourself from any enemy Equipment that could head your way over the course of a match.

This particular Perk combination has grown in popularity in recent months as the meta continues to evolve. Cold-Blooded stops you from being highlighted with anyone using Combat Scout while Ghost will keep your location concealed from any enemy UAVs flying overhead.

To deal with downed opponents as quickly as possible, the Throwing Knife is the perfect tool for the job while the Stim is extremely useful when an instant boost of health or an increase in mobility is required.

Is The Welgun Good in Warzone?

Having spent several hours attempting to master the Welgun, I can say that it's definitely one of the stronger SMGs that are available to use as part of a loadout. The laser-like accuracy combined with its high damage output means it's viable in any close-range scenario and with some trigger discipline, the Welgun is a force to be reckoned with at longer distances.
