How to Unlock Combat Shield

The process of obtaining the Combat Shield may take some time. Available in Vanguard and Warzone at Level 42, we recommend using a Double XP Token to work your way through the levels as quickly as possible. The additional protection provided by the Combat Shield can often be the difference between surviving a gunfight or an unexpected trip to the Gulag.

Best Combat Shield Warzone Loadout

Seeing as there are no attachments to equip onto the Combat Shield, selecting the best Perks and equipment to deal additional damage is the key to success with perhaps the most unorthodox weapon in the entire game.

Perks

• Perk 1: Double Time
• Perk 2: Overkill
• Perk 3: Amped

Carrying the Combat Shield around is far from ideal, which is why we've selected Double Time as the first Perk in order to double the length of Tactical Sprint, making it much easier to navigate Caldera quickly. Next up, we've chosen Overkill to carry two primary weapons and to give us some much-needed firepower. Use the Automaton to deal with any targets from a distance. Last but not least is Amped. Thanks to the increased weapon swap speed, it's very easy to lure an opponent into a false sense of security before switching to the secondary to eliminate them with ease.

Equipment

• Lethal: Semtex
• Tactical: Smoke Grenade

Semtex is a hugely versatile piece of equipment thanks to its sticky nature. Use it to break the armour of a nearby opponent before beating them down with the Combat Shield or stick it to an oncoming vehicle for an explosive result. Smoke Grenades are just as useful. Use them to block a line of sight or as an improvised piece of cover to evade any potential danger.

Is The Combat Shield Good in Warzone?

While it may not change the meta, the Combat Shield definitely has its use in Warzone Pacific. Even when it's not in use, the additional protection provided when being shot from behind can often change the outcome of a gunfight so if you find yourself being taken down regularly, I would recommend giving this loadout a try.
