Sledgehammer Games Unveils Upcoming Changes To Vanguard


Throughout the festive period, Call of Duty Vanguard has come under intense scrutiny from the entire community, with many expressing their frustrations surrounding the current state of multiplayer. As Season 1 nears its halfway point, players have grown tired of numerous issues impacting the game alongside the lack of a ranked playlist which is slated for a 2022 release.

On January 3rd, Vanguard developer Sledgehammer Games revealed a wealth of changes that are expected to arrive over the coming weeks, addressing numerous issues including a dose of weapon balancing and numerous bug fixes in a bid to improve Vanguard's multiplayer offering. In a Twitter thread, the developer shared some of the changes that will be included in the first patch of 2022. Ranging from tweaks to the Mortar Barrage Killstreak to adjustments to Perks to counter any fire-omitting items, it appears that multiplayer could be in for some significant and potentially game-changing alterations.

The announcement of changes comes after @PlaystationSize uncovered a small update for Vanguard had been added to the PlayStation database, implying that some of these changes could be making their way into the game sooner than expected.

When Will The Changes Arrive In Vanguard?

Considering the huge number of fixes that need to be implemented, it's more than likely that Sledgehammer Games will begin updating Vanguard as early as January 5th with fixes for Camo tracking and nerfs to shotguns featuring towards the top of the list. With several issues that need to be addressed, January will be full of updates as the game heads towards its second season of post-launch of content expected in February.
