Although we may be several months away from the release of COD: Vanguard, the hype surrounding the next instalment in the Call of Duty franchise is already beginning to build despite a lack of official information being revealed. In recent months, several leaks and rumours have uncovered plenty of information on the new title being developed by Sledgehammer Games.
Although an official reveal of Vanguard is expected to take place in the not-too-distant future, leaks are continuing to appear. This time around, information surrounding the return of a hugely popular multiplayer map from 2017s World War 2 has been uncovered, much to the excitement of casual and competitive players. Here's everything you need to know about the return of London Docks!
London Docks In COD: Vanguard
The news comes from notable Call of Duty leaker @TheMW2Ghost, who has revealed that London Docks will be making its way to Vanguard as part of the first seasons of post-launch content. Leaks of this nature should always be taken with a pinch of salt, but it is still exciting news nonetheless.
The potential return of London Docks has been met with plenty of positive feedback from both casual and competitive communities, with the map featuring the classic three-lane structure synonymous with Call of Duty multiplayer. From a competitive perspective, the map was ideal for Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Capture the Flag, making it arguably the best map to feature in World War 2.
Another Classic Map
The leaker also reveals that a "WW2 version of a very fan-favourite map from a very iconic cod game" is also going to be included in Vanguard, adding even more excitement ahead of Vanguard's reveal and release which is still on track for its annual Q4 slot. No clues surrounding the fan-favourite map have been revealed yet, and with so many maps considered to be a classic, it could be one of many.
As long as it isn't Nuketown or Shipment, fans will be happy with whatever the map is! For more information on COD 2021, check out which engine the game will be running on and some of the weapons that we think will appear.
