Although there's still one more Major to take place, the attention of the competitive Call of Duty scene is already turning toward the season-ending Championship Weekend event. CDL Champs 2022 will see the top eight teams from the regular season battle it out for a championship ring and huge amounts of prize money.
With teams continuing to secure their place in the tournament, the CDL has unveiled a wealth of information about Champs much to the excitement of fans.

When is CDL Champs 2022?
Champs took place on August 4-7, 2022 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.

After four days of exciting action, only one team managed to stand on the top step of the podium and get their hands on the trophy:
- 1st - LA Thieves - $1.2m
- 2nd - Atlanta FaZe - $650K
- 3rd - Seattle Surge - $320K
- 4th - OpTic Texas - $160K
- 5th/6th - New York Subliners - $80K
- 5th/6th - Toronto Ultra - $80K
- 7th/8th - London Royal Ravens - $30K
- 7th/8th - Boston Breach - $30K
CDL Champs 2022 format
Champs 2022 features a slightly different format from previous CDL seasons. Rather than the top two seeds earning byes into the next round, all eight teams will begin the tournament in the winner's bracket.
If a team loses their winner's bracket match, they drop into the elimination bracket where they have another shot at making the finals. If they lose the elimination match, they are out of the tournament.
