The best LMG by some distance is the DP27, one of the most unique weapons in the entire arsenal thanks to its flying saucer-shaped magazine mounted on top of the gun. As Season 1 gets underway, this particular LMG is still a force to be reckoned with after it evaded a nerf from Sledgehammer Games.

The DP27 is available to use from Level 12, making it one of the strongest weapons to use while working your way towards the maximum level. With a range of attachments equipped, there's every chance of dominating the early stages of the Vanguard cycle as everyone attempts to establish a meta.

With ten attachment slots to take advantage of, there are limitless customisation options for the strongest LMG in multiplayer but after testing a number of different combinations, we settled on this particular build thanks to its improvements to damage range.

Ghost keeps your location hidden from any Spy Planes while moving while Radar uncovers any unsuppressed gunfire coming from the opposition. Demolition is certainly an interesting choice but with access to an additional piece of lethal equipment on spawn and a predicted path for each throw, it can be very easy to guide a grenade through a window and into an enemy-occupied building.

The Molotov Cocktail is heavily underutilised in Vanguard's multiplayer. While it can be used to deal lasting burning damage to any enemies that walk through the flames, it's a great deterrent to prevent players from entering a building through a particular entrance. Just like the Molotov, a well-placed Smoke Grenade provides the perfect opportunity to reposition to another location without the risk of being eliminated.
