Typically, scoring kills is the main method to earn XP in Call of Duty multiplayer. Despite attention turning toward the launch of Modern Warfare 2, many are still getting their multiplayer fix on Vanguard.

With the Season 4 Reloaded update on the horizon, many are hoping Sledgehammer Games can end the Vanguard cycle on a high following four and a half seasons of relative disappointment.

As players continue to do battle as they attempt to outgun each other, one player has decided to take an unorthodox approach to increase their level. Rather than shooting a gun, the player has reached tenth Prestige without scoring a single kill.

Vanguard Player Reaches Highest Level With No Kills

Grinding through the levels can prove a tedious task without the assistance of Double XP to increase the process. By topping the scoreboards, players can unlock a range of weaponry in addition to a wide variety of cosmetic items to customise their Operator of choice.

Rather than go for kills, one player has taken an unorthodox approach when it comes to levelling up in Vanguard. Redditor 'Pilgore1' reveals they've reached tenth Prestige without scoring a single elimination.

A quick glimpse of the player's Combat Record shows the impressive feat alongside a total of 458 victories to their name. As expected, many players wondered how they manage to reach such a high level by avoiding the core mechanic of a Call of Duty game.

They reveal that plenty of XP is available from "playing objective and destroying killstreaks" which is something more players should do rather than focusing on scoring the most kills. The feat took over three days of game time and over 600 games but the player doesn't regret anything. Achieving a win-to-loss ratio of 2.35 is extremely impressive.
