As fans patiently wait for Infinity Ward to share more information on what Modern Warfare 2 has to offer, zombies fans are beginning to wonder whether a Modern Warfare 2 zombies mode is in the works alongside the single-player and multiplayer experiences.

Following a media briefing that took place before the worldwide reveal of Modern Warfare 2 in June, Infinity Ward confirms the game will not have a zombies mode.
While the news isn't ideal, the game will contain an all-new mode known as DMZ which bears similarities to Escape from Tarkov.

What Next For Call of Duty Zombies?
While there's a slim chance of Modern Warfare 2 featuring zombies, there's still some positive news for fans.
In recent months, a Treyarch developer claims the studio has "big plans" for future Zombies experiences which is particularly interesting. Rumours of a standalone zombies title continue to circulate as fans hope the developer avoids a repeat performance of Vanguard zombies.
Modern Warfare 2 Zombies Replacement
As mentioned earlier, it's likely DMZ is replacing zombies for the Modern Warfare 2 cycle. Additionally, there are also rumours of Spec Ops making a return to Call of Duty, which should allow some form of co-op play.
With Modern Warfare 2 expected to have a two-year cycle, there's still plenty of content for players. But, if you still want your zombies fix, you'll have to play another Call of Duty or sit tight until Treyarch's next offering.
