Modern Warfare 2 Will Feature a New Warzone Map


Despite the fact that the Call of Duty community is now focused on Call of Duty: Vanguard's release on the 5th of November, new rumours surrounding the 2022 release keep coming to the surface. Infinity Ward is already hard at work for the Call of Duty 2022 title as Activision is determined to recreate Warzone’s success.

As per a new report by Tom Henderson, shared via VGC, a new Warzone map will be released following the launch of Call of Duty 2022, similar to Vanguard and Warzone’s integration. Even though the next Call of Duty title is set to release in a few days, fans can’t control their excitement for the return of the Modern Warfare series.

New Warzone Map

According to the new report in VGC, the new Warzone map being developed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will include classic locations from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. This will also include an enhanced version of Favela, as well as other game’s classic maps including Afghan, Quarry, Terminal, and more.

The new Warzone map for Modern Warfare II will be made out of these historical maps and locations. The report also stated that a new game mode like the Hazard Zone from Battlefield 2042, may be included in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The Hazard Zone gameplay combines aspects of Escape From Tarkov and Battle Royale into a singular mode.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Release Date

While Activision declined to comment on this report, it has left the fans of the franchise eager to hear more about the game in development. It is far too early to say when the next Modern Warfare will be released but fans can expect a release date around Q4 of 2022. In the meantime, get familiar with the soon-releasing Call of Duty Vanguard’s weapons that will be available in multiplayer.
