Leaker Claims Modern Warfare 3's Remastered Campaign Is Releasing This Year

Although plenty of focus is on Season 3 of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, a notable Call of Duty leaker has posted that it is likely that players will get their hands on a remastered edition of Modern Warfare 3's single-player campaign.

Rumours of a remaster have been banded around the community for some time, with many seeing it as a logical release after a remaster of Modern Warfare 2's campaign was released in 2020.

Alongside discussing the release of the remaster, the leaker also mentioned the likelihood of Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer receiving a remaster, much to the excitement of the community.

First reported by Dexerto, the leaks come from notable leaker @TheMW2Ghost, who has an impressive track record when it comes to leaking accurate information.

The leaker states that the remastered version of the Modern Warfare 3 campaign is "definitely coming this year" suggesting it come as early as Q2 of 2021.

Alongside a Q2 release, PlayStation players could be receiving the remaster an entire month before other platforms thanks to Activision's existing exclusivity deal with Sony.

Will It Contain Multiplayer?

For those expecting a remaster of one of the franchise's best multiplayer modes, it's extremely unlikely that it will receive the same treatment as the campaign.

Is The Leak Legit?

Despite the accuracy of the leaker's previous posts, leaks should always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Considering the first two of the original Modern Warfare trilogy have received a remaster, it would make plenty of sense for the third and final part of the story to get a fresh coat of paint.

With Q2 in full swing, we will have to wait and see what Activision has in store.
