Pearl Abyss Confirms Black Desert Port for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S 'In Development'

Black Desert was released in 2015 for PC and since then, we've seen it release across mobile, PS4, and Xbox One. Now, it's been reported that developers Black Abyss is working for a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S port for the game.

Je-seok Jang (Head of Game Design) mentioned that their move to create this new versions for Black Desert was due to fan demand, telling us they've received no end of requests to bring their game to newer platforms.

With the advent of the new consoles, many Adventurers have been asking for exclusive Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 versions of the game.

Black Desert PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Port Price and Release Date

Jang also said that this initiative was a last-minute decision, since they were really focusing on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Black Desert.

"To be frank, we weren’t entirely ready to undertake such a project in terms of the preparations and the priority we initially had in mind. As we’ve mentioned last time, our focuses have always been on providing a more stable environment for Xbox and PlayStation 4, perfecting the optimization on these consoles first."

Now that the company's officially revealed its plan of action, we can expect development of Black Abyss' PS5 and Xbox Series X/S editions is already ongoing, where Jang also confirmed they'll release it for free. However, no release date has been provided.
