PlatinumGames Want To Show Bayonetta 3, But Say Its Not Their Call

Bayonetta 3 was first revealed back in 2017, but since that time, we've not seen anything about it beyond that initial trailer. It's a situation that's led to PlatinumGames repeatedly clarifying that production is coming along smoothly, and series creator Hideki Kamiya's weighed in once again.

Having previously hinted that news was coming at some point this year, we're now three months away from 2022, which has inevitably led to speculation once again. Speaking with VGC, Kamiya was asked about that potential tease, informing them "Ultimately, it’s not our decision what to say and when to say it."

PlatinumGames Want To Show Bayonetta 3, But Say Its Not Their Call

More specifically, Kamiya advised:

It was more of a not definitely ‘something will come out this year’, but if there is a year, then something should happen, right? If you remember last time, I said that even though everyone was asking about Bayonetta 3, maybe you should tell everyone to forget about it for a while. I kind of need to keep to that stance for now because ultimately, it’s not our decision what to say and when to say it

Kamiya wasn't alone in this either. Also speaking with VGC, PlatinumGames’ studio head Atsushi Inaba, weighed in too, stating:

There’s no need to worry. Don’t worry about it at this time. Everything’s OK.

Advising that the development team are eager to show it, Kamiya confirmed that this decision is ultimately down to the publishers, Nintendo. Hopefully it won't be long before we finally get a closer look at this long-anticipated sequel, and we'll keep you informed when that happens.
