It goes without saying but Pokemon Legends Z-A is packed to the brim with side missions. There are now a total of 120 side quests that players can take on and will surely eat the time for both new players and veterans alike. Some are good, some are "meh", but some are memorable.

What Are The Best Side Missions In Pokemon Legends Z-A?
With the number of side missions you can take on Pokemon Legends Z-A, some are bound to be someone's favorite but these are the ones that are generally loved by the fan base. The thrilling but equally frustrating side quest of Froakie, the horrifying side tale of Litwick and the missing child, the Starmie cult cutaway, and more!

Side Mission 02 - A Use For An Evolution Stone
This is one of the earliest side missions in the game and one that you can't even skip. An NPC named Tracie where she'll ask you to catch a Pikachu for her in exchange for her Pokemon so that can study the science of Stone evolutions.
After you trade your Pikachu to her, sure enough, she evolves it to Raichu but don't be jealous because in return, she gives you Bois (pronounced "bwah", by the way). Bois is a Heracross which is an extremely powerful addition to your team this early in the game.
Side Mission 85 - Follow Litwick!
Now let's talk horror for a bit. This side mission is so mysterious and terrifying that it's almost like a horror short film embedded within the game. A kid named Consei tells you that her sister has gone missing and seeks your help to find her then a Litwick will appear and will lure you to the sewers.
As you keep following, you'll reach the end of your journey when you pass out after finding Consei's sibling. Turns out, she voluntarily goes to said sewers to give some life energy for the Litwicks. Noble but a scary thought for a child. Also, there's a bonus jumpscare at the end that you shouldn't or couldn't miss.
Side Mission 100 - Starmie On High
Speaking of scary, let's talk about this disturbing side mission where you accidentally join a cult. Once you take this side mission, Cate will advise you to bring your own Starmie and come back at night (Note : You can only initiate this Side Mission during day time).
When you return to Cate, it won't just be her anymore as there will be other trainers in the area with their own Starmie. All of you will start screaming "Staaar!" as if praising this allegedly alien Pokemon.
Side Mission 9 - A Challenge From Froakie
Surv is a Racine Construction, the company in charge of improving Lumiose and putting up scaffoldings in the city, employee who initiates this side mission for you by introducing his scaffolding climbing expert, Froakie. This side mission sees you taking on 3 obstacle scaffolding courses of increasing difficulty.
These courses, especially the last one, can be very challenging but surely will be a delight for platforming fans. Not only do you get to test your parkour and precision skills but finishing this quest grants you Froakie itself, which by now we all know evolves into the awesome Greninja!
Side Mission 21 - Spewpa In The Museum
If you love finding games like Where's Waldo or Mystery P.I., this is something up your alley. This side mission tasks you in finding 12 Spewpas hidden all around the Lumiose Museum. You can sometimes find these Spewpas in funny places like on top of an armor piece or one pretending to be a kaiju.
Finding the 12 Spewpas is just the first part of the fun because, like the last entry, the reward for finishing this is also very much worth it. The reward is a Spewpa. Not convinced yet? This Spewpa is the only one in the game that evolves into a blue, marine Vivillon so it is rare as it is beautiful.
Honorable Mention : Side Mission Ex1 - Shine Bright Like A Gemstone
This is an honorable mention because this is a relatively new side mission given by Game Freak as a Mystery Gift. This gift will come in a form of a Diancite Mega Stone where if you take it to Emma's office, after beating the main story, will trigger a cutscene.
This side mission is very simple where all you have to do is follow Emma and her Espurr, Mimi, and towards the end, get the chance to battle and catch the mythical Diancie and Mega Evolve it to your heart's content.
Pokemon Legends Z-A proves that side missions can also be fun and with the Diancie addition, we can't help but be excited for more to come!
