The 10th 2XKO character was just accidentally leaked, and it’s none other than the beloved (or hated) Teemo.
With the 2XKO closed beta kicking off this September 10, which will be ongoing until the game’s full release, fans who got a code to enjoy the soft launch are already trying out to master their favorite Champions, which include the likes of Jinx, Ahri, Vi, Braum, and even Blitzcrank, the 9th and final character announced playable during the beta period.
Famous dataminer SkinSpotlights, who specializes in digging up upcoming content for games like Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends, and now 2XKO, shared an image teasing skins for the upcoming first battle pass the game will boast during the full launch. In said image, Teemo was spotted, all but confirming he’s the 10th character joining the roster.
If you needed even more confirmation, even the 2XKO official X (formerly known as Twitter) account responded: “How'd that get in there?”
Some players will welcome the addition of a newcomer that kind of breaks the trend we’ve been seeing with 2XKO. For an IP with such wild character designs, the roster for its fighting game remained rather homogenous, with plenty of human-like characters, albeit with somewhat unique movesets.
A few more, probably via the association they have with a character like Teemo in League of Legends, will loathe the decision. It’s not an egregious one, but can someone think of the dozens of Caitlyn fans that have to sit down and watch how basically every other Arcane protagonist gets into 2XKO but them?
In any case, I do expect 2XKO to receive a ton more support in the forthcoming years, and it’s good that the developers aren’t afraid to throw a curveball into the roster once in a while.
