Want an introduction to 2XKO Fuses and which ones are best for beginners? Fret not, I’ve got you covered.
The ongoing beta for Riot Games’ tag fighter has just kicked off. Unlike previous Alpha Labs, this is it: the beta is not going away until the full release. Think of it as a soft launch for PC players. Sadly for you console enthusiasts, you’ll have to wait on the sidelines for the time being.
In any case, one of the key elements in 2XKO is Fuses, a component that radically changes how a team is played. You and your opponent both may be rocking a Jinx/Ahri duo, but by using different Fuses, you’ll be playing extremely differently.
That said, this is what you need to know about 2XKO Fuses: which ones I consider the best, and which ones I recommend for beginners. While you’re here, consider checking out my Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls written beta impressions; you can check out some gameplay as well.
2XKO Fuses Explained
Fuses in 2XKO are one of the game’s core mechanics. Each Fuse allows you to customize your team's playstyle and strategy. You’ll select a Fuse after locking in your team, with some giving you the ability to use multiple handshake tags, others allowing you to combine supers, and more.
The full list of 2XKO Fuses is as follows:
- Double Down: Combine your Super Attacks with your Assist’s.
- Freestyle: Handshake Tag twice in one sequence.
- Sidekick: Assist cannot be KO’d or tagged to and has unique tools to help the point.
- Juggernaut: Fight as a single champion with enhanced powers.
- 2X Assist: Empower your partner with multiple Assist Actions.
Best 2XKO Fuses
During my time playing previous Alpha Labs and the current closed beta, I’d recommend players to practice with the Freestyle, Double Down, and 2X Assist Fuses.
These enable mechanics that veteran fighting game players are familiar with. But they are also team-dependent. For example, a team that has a ton of mix-up potential could potentially benefit more from the Freestyle than a team with fewer mix-ups. Similarly, you could find a team with incredible combo potential that will make the most out of the 2X Assist Fuse.
Best 2XKO Fuses For Beginners
For newcomers, I highly recommend the Sidekick Fuse. While the game might encourage you to pick Juggernaut due to making one single character more buff, I don’t think it’s a good idea to handicap yourself that much.
With Sidekick Fuse, at least you have access to some sort of assist from your secondary character as you dip your toes, learning the ropes of 2XKO by piloting a single Champion.
One more tip is that you can enable the Pulse Combo option during your character select screen process. This essentially enables auto combos, which were a previous Fuse that was removed in favor of having them available at any time for those who wish for a simplified experience. Toy around with them, but don’t rely too much on Pulse Combos or you’ll stagnate your growth as a player.
And that’s it. I’ve got a ton more 2XKO content down the line, so stick with us at Gfinityesports.com.
