- Quick Answer: Here's how to unlock and play the new Dream Dives mode in Hades 2, a unique post-launch addition.
We don't deserve Supergiant Games. I already considered Hades 2 a fantastic game as it was, so much so that I gave it a 10/10 in my review of the 1.0 release last year. Now, alongside the release of the game on PS5 and Xbox Series (including Game Pass), they dropped a unique new game mode that is essentially the cherry on top of everything the game has to offer.
The second post-launch patch added plenty of content for those who enjoyed the main story and wanted some extra stuff to do in their post-game grind. More epilogues to different side quests, extra conversations with gods and other recurrent characters, and a secret new mode.
It's a bit of a spoiler, so here's your first and final warning.
Still here? Good.
The new mode is a bit of a twist on the actual runs you can usually do, either diving deep into the underworld or trying to make your way up to Mt. Olympus. They are called Dream Dives and will see you face four different regions.
These can be in any order, by the way, mixing both Underworld and surface biomes. You'll get to play four different ones, in any order. Unlike regular biomes, the bosses and NPCs you run into here will be dream versions of them, not allowing you to gift or have conversations with them.

Unlike regular resources, you'll be earning Shiny Stars, which you can spend to customize the training grounds and even get new aspects for your animal companions.
It's not much in the grand scheme of things, but it's a neat little addition that will tack on an extra couple of hours of gameplay to an already massively addictive experience.
How To Unlock the Dream Dives In Hades 2
To unlock the new Dream Dives, you need to wake up Hypnos. This is independent from the main story, so you don't technically need to finish the main quest to get the Dream Dives.
We have a very nifty guide helping you wake up Hypnos in Hades 2 so do check it out.
