Mudang: Two Hearts is reportedly cancelled as fans have discovered numerous signs pointing to its shutdown.

EVR Studio, the South Korean development studio behind Mudang: Two Hearts, had its website shut down mysteriously. Months before this bizarre development, the studio also suffered a massive layoff as the company saw a gradual decrease in workers from over 100 to less than 25. As of December 8, only two co-CEOs remain at the studio.

Another telltale sign of its development hell is its quiet YouTube channel, which regularly posts dev diaries every month. Since its reveal back in the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025, EVR Studio has provided light updates on the game’s status. This includes animation work behind the scenes and other details behind its gameplay mechanics. As of now, its last post was from August 2025, which is exactly 4 months ago. This eerie silence sparks concern among its fans.

Set in a distant future where North and South Korea are finally nearing their reunification, Mudang: Two Hearts was a game nobody saw coming. It’s a third-person shooter with stealth elements. The game primarily features a Splinter Cell-like gameplay, where players assume control of a hardened soldier armed with silencers and other arsenal.

The reveal trailer was promising at best. With over 450,000 views, it had players speculating about its odd gameplay variations. The 2 minute and a half trailer teased superpowered enemies, undead armies, and a second playable character acting as a ‘damsel in distress.’

Mudang: Two Hearts’ reveal sparked a resurgence in the stealth-action genre, prompting fans to call on studios like Ubisoft to bring back the beloved Splinter Cell series as its upcoming Remake is taking too long to release. For fans, it showcased the possibility of what a stealth-action game would look like in the modern era. Given Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s recent success, the genre isn’t going away anytime soon, and more studios should capitalize on it.

As of the moment, EVR Studio has not made a public statement about its dire situation. Fans are worried that this might be the end of the line for their Splinter Cell spiritual successor as Mudang: Two Hearts won’t be possible without more support and investment from big companies.

Unless a big publisher steps in to save this project from imminent doom, Mudang: Two Hearts may join the growing list of ambitious projects that never saw the light of day.
