If you missed the online beta for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, you’ll be happy to hear that the game will get a free demo this upcoming September 17, ahead of the full launch a week later on the 25th. However, this demo will focus on the single-player offerings and won’t be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds' major selling point is the ability to change courses midway through a race, providing players with a fresh take on the Sonic Racing franchise. The possible combinations of courses can lead to some unexpected situations. Adding to that, the introduction of characters from outside the Sonic world, like Persona 5’s Joker, Like a Dragon’s Ichiban, and even Hatsune Miku, will ensure the races stay fresh.
As for its single-player, fans have lamented the lack of any story-based modes; however, CrossWorlds does have some neat options, such as Grand Prix, Time Trials, and Race Park, a party mode that lets you add some wacky rules to an already crazy concept.
The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds single-player demo will likely let you play a couple of courses and experience the course-changing mechanic. It will be available on September 17 for Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
As for the full game, expect it to launch on September 25 for the platforms mentioned above plus Xbox One and PlayStation 4. That’s it, stick with us at Gfinityesports.com: your go-to source for all things Sonic.
