It looks like a Quake 3 remaster is coming soon, as known preservation developers Nightdive Studios teased something Quake-related during its Titanfall 2 Community Night on Twitch.

During the livestream event, Nightdive Studios pinned a message saying, “All eyes, I mean Orbbs, will be on that announcement…”

For those unaware, Orbb is a playable character and enemy warrior in Quake III Arena. It’s meant to be an organic machine designed to record battles, but it has become part of the firefight for reasons unknown. This gives credence to the idea that Nightdive Studios might be working on a potential remaster of the third game, especially since the character “Orbbs” made its debut in Quake III.

Quake 3 Remaster teased by Nightdive?

Sadly, there isn’t much else to gather from this announcement apart from the brief tease. However, given Nightdive Studios’ solid track record with enhancing old titles, especially the first Quake game, there’s a good chance this teaser means something.

Fans are already speculating whether Nightdive Studios might update all the mainline Quake games following this. Some are even hoping Quake 4 gets the remaster it deserves.

For now, all we can do is wait for Nightdive Studios to officially confirm whether they’re working on a Quake 3 remaster. Until then, it’s all just speculation.
