The name of Overwatch's 51st playable hero has finally been unveiled: Sierra. This will be the sixth character to arrive in the game this year, after five new heroes dropped at the start of Reign of Talon Season 1.

When Does Sierra Come Out in Overwatch?

Sierra, Overwatch's next hero, is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, April 14, exactly when Season 2 begins. A new patch will go live at 11:00 AM PT to add the new season's content, including the new hero.

A weekend trial for Sierra won't happen this time, as Alec Dawson, the game's Associate Director, previously revealed that weekend trials before the heroes' release are not planned for this year.

Sierra's Role and Bio

Sierra will be a Damage hero, becoming the 23rd character in the role. Her subrole is Recon, meaning all enemies below half health that receive damage from her are revealed.

Her nationality remains a mystery, but we know she is affiliated with Overwatch, since we see her in the animated trailer communicating with Sojourn and trying to stop both Emre and Freja.
