- Quick Answer: Recent leaks point to Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII potentially being a DLC character in Street Fighter 6, alongside other rumored fighters.
Rumors are the vein of the fighting game community. Especially when it comes to DLC. Most aren't even close to being true, but some are too big to simply mark down as crazy conspiracy Reddit theories, like Tifa making it to Street Fighter 6.
Yes, Tekken fans, the recent massive Street Fighter 6 leak suggests that Final Fantasy's Tifa could make her debut in Capcom's iconic fighting game franchise after years of Tekken players pleading to Harada that she should join the roster of either Tekken 7 or 8.
The rest of the Season 4 DLC lineup would include Gouken, Vega, and Haggar. It would make for a rather controversial season, as many fan favorites like Ibuki, Sakura, Makoto, and Dudley would still be missing.
This is all merely speculative, but as a massive fan of fighting games and Final Fantasy VII, I did some digging into the credibility of these leakers. Again, this doesn't mean the leak will be 100% accurate, but let me tell you: I am getting excited.
Is Tifa Coming To Street Fighter 6?
Simple answer is: I don't know. Nobody does, even if the track record of the leakers is fairly accurate; we could be looking at a situation where they are being fed false information to try to crack down on people spoiling the fun. Something Nintendo is allegedly doing as well.

The first user to state Tifa would be coming to Street Fighter 6 was RnK_Clan. If this name sounds familiar, that's because they correctly predicted all of Street Fighter 6's Season 2 DLC lineup.
Posts from as far back as February, 2024, a whole four months before the season was revealed at Summer Game Fest, saw RNK confirm Terry was going to be a guest character. At the time, everyone simply brushed such a ridiculous rumor off, so no one paid attention to the fact that weeks later, he'd predict the inclusions of Mai, Elena, and M. Bison as well.
RNK first mentioned potential season 4 characters back in November, teasing Gouken, with the first mention of Tifa happening in January. So, while the rumor just picked up steam, it's not entirely new.
What's interesting is that there is a second source corroborating the information, one that people don't talk about. A Square Enix insider who posts anonymously on the ResetEra forums stated that Tifa is indeed coming to Street Fighter 6.
He has a short but very precise track record of providing truthful leaks. Their biggest one came this past January, where he urged Final Fantasy VII fans to temper expectations ahead of February's State of Play, correctly stating that FFVII Rebirth would be shown at a Nintendo Direct, of all places, as Square wants to get the first two games on all platforms before promoting the third and final one.
Again, this is not to say Tifa is 100% confirmed for Street Fighter 6, but thinking about it from a marketing standpoint it makes absolute sense: two iconic Japanese gaming franchises collaborating at a time where Square wants to celebrate a historic milestone for FFVII and Capcom is in its second Golden Age with Street Fighter being the most popular its ever been, perhaps even more so than during the arcade days.
Finally, as I'm wrapping up this article, content creator Rooflemonger just posted his own speculation video regarding Tifa with a very interesting pinned comment, which I'm sharing below:
"Ok so just to put it out there. You guys know unlike a lot of other channels desperate for clicks I do not report on every single leak that gets out there, cause most leaks are fake as hell and a waste of mine and yours time to even talk about. This leak? There's something to it. I first heard about Tifa behind the scene quite some time ago. However what I heard also didn't line up 100% with whats being reported but its all in the video. So here's what's out there, with what I know and take it for what you will."
In the video he does confirm he's heard of Tifa and Vega, but not Gouken or Haggar, adding a bit more spice to the rumor mill.
Only time will tell, and we may have to wait patiently until Summer Game Fest to see what goes down.
