Konami could potentially surprise fans with more Metal Gear news after announcing a special stream set to take place at Tokyo Game Show. The stream is set to take place this upcoming September 25 at 11:30 JST, which means you’ll be able to watch on September 24 at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET.
Key members of the staff who will be at the event include producers Noriaki Okamura and Yuji Korekado, as well as Fox Hunt director Hajime Sahara. Fox Hunt is set to be a massive multiplayer component coming to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, so hopefully, fans will be able to get a glimpse at what awaits.
Reports stated that Fox Hunt, which is a very ambitious PvP online mode that will make the most out of the series’ staple stealth mechanics, will be released this Fall, which is now rapidly approaching. MGS Delta: Snake Eater is already a fantastic game, earning Konami some good faith with the community as a result, so Fox Hunt could cement it as a classic, even without Hideo Kojima’s input.
Beyond that, fans also expect a potential announcement for a Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 2 that could include the likes of MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, one of the only titles in the franchise yet to be ported to another platform beyond the PlayStation 3.
Vol 1 of the Master Collection launched in 2023, compiling a big chunk of the Metal Gear series in one neat package, going from the original 1987 title all the way up to 2004’s Snake Eater. Some more wild guesses include a full-on remake of Metal Gear Solid. The 1998 PlayStation classic was originally unveiled at the 1996 TGS, so it would be a nice way to circle back to those early years of the franchise.
