EA is unlocking Battlefield 6 for a seven-day free trial starting November 25, with PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S players all able to play online without buying it.

The trial runs directly through Battlefield: REDSEC, so there’s no need to install a separate demo.

Once the event begins, REDSEC receives an update, and a large Battlefield 6 Free Trial option appears on the main menu.

Selecting it lets you install the required multiplayer files and immediately queue into the trial playlists.

Returning REDSEC players keep everything, as your rank, weapon progress, gadgets, and cosmetics move into the trial automatically, and anything you earn during the week stays with you in the full game if you decide to buy it.

How Do You Download the Battlefield 6 Free Trial on Each Platform?

It works the same on PlayStation and Xbox: search “Battlefield: REDSEC” in the store and download it like any free title.

On PC, REDSEC is available via the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

After installing it, wait for the free trial window to go live, launch REDSEC, sign in with your EA account, and follow the prompt to start downloading the trial content.

Most regions treat REDSEC and the free trial like any other free-to-play online title, meaning subscription services like PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core generally aren’t required just to enter matches, though local requirements can vary slightly from region to region.

What Maps Are Included?

The Battlefield 6 free trial includes three maps: Siege of Cairo, Eastwood, and Blackwell Fields, each built around its own style of combat.

The entire Initiation Breakthrough playlist is locked to Siege of Cairo, which makes it a great spot to practice objectives, experiment with your class tools, and ease into the flow of the game without big-lobby pressure.

Team Tactical brings a quicker tempo by using smaller, infantry-centered maps that swap out depending on what you’re playing.

The mode expands to the most open and reactive environments, with Eastwood and Blackwell Fields delivering tall structures, vehicle-friendly routes, and destruction-heavy combat spaces.

Does Your Progress Carry Over After the Free Trial?

The free week works like a full account extension since REDSEC links progress to your EA profile, so every XP gain, unlock, or cosmetic you earn stays with you afterward.

If you buy Battlefield 6 afterward, all your progress carries over instantly.

EA is also giving out a limited-time bonus: logging into REDSEC before November 30 unlocks the “Lethal Force” weapon package for the M2010 ESR sniper rifle, which can be claimed from the Inbox (EA Connect) inside the main menu.

It becomes usable in both REDSEC and Battlefield 6’s multiplayer once you own the full game.
