How Fortnite X The Simpsons Became My Gaming Highlight of the Year

I’ve always liked Fortnite, but I’m terrible at sticking with any one game. Because of that, I don’t have much of a reference point for how good this season was compared to previous ones. However, as a huge Simpsons fan from my childhood, the addition of Springfield and the classic characters immediately grabbed my attention.

I started playing a few weeks ago and honestly never expected to complete all the available passes, including the bonus objectives. Yet, here I am, having ticked off every challenge, right down to the LEGO Simpsons quests.

The lower player count and tighter map design made the overall gameplay feel instantly more fun and fast-paced. Running away from those creepy humanoid hounds at Mr. Burns' mansion or making a prank call in Moe's were just a couple of the hilarious highlights.

On top of my own enjoyment, this season got my son involved. He’s never been interested in gaming with me outside of WWE 2K25, but suddenly he had to play alongside me. After watching just a few episodes of the show, he instantly clicked with the map and characters.

We’ve managed to nab a few Victory Royales and have bonded over a game that, until now, was rarely booted up unless I was quickly buying a cosmetic from a collab I liked. Lastly, the Simpsons crossover made one really cool move during the event: they released mini-episodes on Disney+ to further the story each week.

Events that played out in the show would pop up in the game, making the whole experience even more entertaining as we laughed our way through every match.I might close Fortnite down for a while at the end of the week, but my time with "Fortnite X The Simpsons" is definitely one of my gaming highlights of the year.
