Helldivers 2 is going big once again after leakers found new details about the game’s upcoming season, including an explosive new Warbond and some surprising upgrades for the Automaton faction.
The new Warbond will be called “REDACTED REGIMENT” and will feature the game’s first remote-controller throwable: The C4. The B/MD C4 Pack is one of the first support weapons of the Warbond in Helldivers 2. These C4 charges can be blown simultaneously or individually, serving as an anti-tank against threats like Hulks, Factory Striders, and other heavy Automaton machines.

The upcoming Warbond will also see a new AR for players who want to do things stealthily. The AR-59 is a new Assault Rifle with a suppressor. It deals light armor penetrating, perfect for silent engagements against the encroaching Automaton threat.
Outfits inside the Warbond also resemble that of Kylo Ren’s fashion sense in the new Star Wars trilogy, with another looking like it’s coming straight out of CD Projekt Read’s Cyberpunk 2077.
The REDACTED REGIMENT Warbond is intended for espionage, as the upcoming season is likely focusing on Automatons. No one knows what’s up with the Automatons right now, but judging from the leaked images, we could be seeing them being upgraded, similar to how the Gloom has affected the Terminid infestation, causing them to grow powerful and spread their virus across galaxies.

The REDACTED REGIMENT will also take players into a volcanic planet teeming with lava-covered rivers, with some players even comparing it to Star Wars’ version of Mustafar. Apart from the new map, new missions also involve extracting minerals from Automaton mining bases, which would play similarly to how the Gloom Caves work in the “Into the Unjust” Update.
The release date for Helldivers 2’s latest season is still a mystery, but it’s likely to drop within this month or early November. This kind of drip feed content has always been Arrowhead Studios’ specialty to provide more content to fans without giving everything away. Among these drip-feed content are teasing new Stratagems, enemy types, and mysterious lore about Super Earth’s hegemonic influence across the galaxies.

The last season had the Hive Lord rampaging Helldivers on their missions, so who knows what awaits us with this new Automaton threat. We might be seeing a massive Hulk the size of the Hive Lord, or something akin to a Star Destroyer like the Death Star in Star Wars films.
Either way, this upcoming update is shaping up to be another great season for Helldivers as they face off against an army of clankers. This might be the justice players have always wanted since the massacre on Malevelon Creek.
