Inflation has hit Fortnite, as Epic Games has announced a price increase to V-Buck bundles. To compensate, they've lowered the cost of the Battle Pass.
Starting on March 19, the cheapest $9 V-Buck bundle will grant 800 instead of 1,000. At the same time, the Battle Pass will be priced at 800 to match these new changes.
Sadly, this also comes with major changes to the BP rewards, as they'll be lowered to 800 with no bonus V-Bucks. Previously, a Battle Pass included 1,000 V-Bucks plus 500 during the extra rewards.
Epic also revealed that players will get 20% in Epic Rewards for purchases made via the EGS or Epic's payment system on iOS, Android, and PC.
Why Is Fortnite Raising V-Bucks Prices?
According to Epic Games, the "cost of running" Fortnite has gone up and they need to raise the prices to "pay the bills."

It's unclear what exactly this is referring to. It could be Epic Games seeing diminishing returns with the amount of collaborations that now populate the battle royale (for which they likely need to pay to use the IPs and hand a share of the profits). Maybe keeping servers for so many games is proving to be costly.
In any case, I doubt Epic Games is running out of money, and it's a situation of keeping profits big enough to satisfy shareholders.
