Diablo 4's New Mouse Support Is the Strongest Hint Yet of a Nintendo Switch 2 Port

Diablo 4 is still getting plenty of support from Activision Blizzard, despite fans having mixed reactions about the game. This action RPG still suffers from various business decisions, like its always-online mandate, but some fans are still enjoying that meaty combat.

Intriguingly, mouse and keyboard support was recently added to current-gen consoles, as part of the game’s roadmap. Fans have actually been asking for this, since keyboard and mouse can offer freedom in ways that current gaming controllers can’t. It’s a good option to have, especially for those who want more choices.

This does make us wonder if the mouse support is a prelude to Diablo 4 getting announced for Switch 2. Since Nintendo advertised mouse controls for their new Joy-Cons, it’s not that hard to assume that a port for Switch 2 is in the works.

Activision Blizzard has alluded to making a port of this game before, as the Switch 2 is a lot more powerful and can handle some pretty strong titles. Granted, it does struggle with some titles, as the DLC of Cyberpunk 2077 has shown, but it’s still a far cry when compared to the original Switch. It would also be fitting because Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 are pretty good on Switch, so their successor could do really well on Switch 2, especially with mouse controls.

Now that keyboard and mouse controls are a thing on PS5 and Xbox Series, it feels like Diablo 4 coming to Switch 2 is a matter of “when” rather than “if.” The fact that this game runs pretty well on a PS4 shows that Nintendo’s new console should be able to handle it. We’re sure some fans will nitpick over the resolution and minor performance drops, but that won’t matter if slashing enemies in handheld mode is a ton of fun.

Let’s just hope they finally add an offline mode by that point.
