Blizzard Entertainment’s upcoming Diablo 4 expansion is going to be bigger than their previous DLC, according to leaks.
Fans were quick enough to spot the full map of Diablo 4’s next explorable location from a German gaming website. If the leaks are accurate, Lord of Hatred could surpass Vessel of Hatred in sheer scale.

Skovos Islands, the next map in Diablo 4, is as massive as the Nahantu region from the game’s previous expansion. The leaked image indicates that this new area follows an archipelagic design, featuring multiple island segments connected by bridges and winding pathways.
In Diablo lore, the Skovos Isles are located in the southern region of Sanctuary. It was originally intended to be part of Diablo III, but was later scrapped early in development. Also known as the Amazon Isles, Skovos consists of four main islands: Philios, Skovos, Lycander, and Skartara. The leaked map seems to confirm that we will be exploring all four main islands.
Fans have long called for a new Diablo map with more open areas, rather than the tight hallway-like levels of previous entries. The Skovos Isles could be that answer, especially since it exists outside Diablo 4’s main regions. While it’s still unclear whether players will travel by boat or via teleporters to reach the isles, fans are already excited about the possibilities.

Another major hope from fans in the upcoming DLC is that Blizzard will add more places of interest. It has been a problem in Diablo 4’s base game and the Vessel of Hatred DLC since most of the areas are just playgrounds featuring enemy AI fodder. Lilith’s statues, events, and other mini-puzzle altars seem to break that monotony, but players wanted more from its open-world exploration.
With only a few more weeks before Diablo 4’s Lord of Hatred DLC launches, anticipation is at an all-time high. Players are already having the time of their lives playing as the Paladin after it was shadow-dropped at last year’s The Game Awards. Some are also speculating about what the mysterious ‘eighth class’ is that comes alongside the upcoming DLC.
Apart from expanded endgame content (like fishing!) and a variety of quality-of-life improvements, the Lord of Hatred DLC will also serve as a major conclusion to Mephisto and Lilith’s storyline in Diablo 4. Fans are already excited to see where the story goes after dealing with these Prime Evils, wondering if Baal and Diablo could also make their return soon.
The Lord of Hatred DLC is set to launch this April 28, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
